Discussion:
The Cheatham County Board of Education met in regular session on Thursday, March 6th at Cheatham County Central High School. Chairman David Risner called the meeting to order at 6:03 p.m. and welcomed everyone.

STATE WRESTLERS
A huge congrats to our high school wrestlers who qualified for this year’s TSSAA state wrestling tournament! The state tournament was February 21-22 at the Williamson County Expo Park in Franklin. 8. School Improvement Plan (SIP) Goal Update

Discussion:
CCCHS School Principal, Steve Wenning presented their goal update, which was Success for all students. They are a Level One but are making changes. He showed the Plan for Success: personnel changes, emphasis on HQIM in ELA and Math, targeted intervention through ALEKS and BEABLE, data analysis throughout the year, and comparing projections vs academic progress and reward. Their goals are to set proficiency goals off last year. The students are thriving from the goals set and love the rewards. He thanked the board for the football stadium and new AC systems.

Discussion:
Stacy Brinkley and Rachel Long discussed setting goals for the academic program. Collaborative Planning is essential to our academic plan. Rachel Long discussed the IPG- Individual Practice Guide. The IPG is classroom observation tools that describe "core actions" associated with standards-aligned content, effective teaching, and meaningful student engagement. Each core action includes indicators and a rating scale, making it easy to identify trends across classrooms and track progress over time.

16. Brief comments from Board Members
Discussion:
Mr. Epps thanked everyone for being here and congratulated Stacy Brinkley. He congratulated CCCHS Girls basketball as well.
Mr. Harden congratulated CCCHS Girls basketball and HHS Boys basketball. CCCHS Steak Dinner is April 26th, he has tickets if anyone would like to purchase. Ms. Locke thanked Mr. Wenning for hosting, she congratulated Stacy and complimented her for the book given to the board. She will be reading it in her granddaughter's classroom. Mr. McCarver felt at home tonight, spending 25 years of his life there. He went over all the wonderful things going on in the district. He mentioned the book "Code of Silence" by CCCHS Teacher, Ms. Delaney and student, Riley Knox and how impressed he is. Mr. Risner thanked Mr. Wenning for hospitality. He enjoys traveling to the three schools. He complimented Mr. Wenning on the truancy numbers as well as others in the district. Announced the HMS Lunch and Learn is tomorrow and congratulated to the sports teams! |

Discussion:
Dr. Beck mentioned Read Across America Week as well as National Maintenance Week is this week. Beable Program for Literacy sponsored the Principals Meeting with a panel from ACESA. She congratulated Penelope Pitts, SMS Band for receiving Superior on everything. April 5th is the first SHS Annual Car Show and thanked CCCHS for their hospitality. She ended up with congratulating Stacy Brinkley, she has beyond thrilled and has no doubt she will do an amazing job.
