3.A. DISCUSSION CONCERNING THE APPLICANTS FOR THE SHORT-TERM SUPERINTENDENT

Discussion:
Wayne Arnold, JMCSS School Board Member, mentioned that there may be a conflict of interest with Dr. Jared Myracle, Wayne Arnold's son-in-law being one of the applicants. Kevin Alexander, Board Chair, explained the JMCSS Board Members how the selection of the applicants would be handled in the meeting. Each Board would write down two applicants names, hand the paper to the Janith Stack, Board Secretary, Mrs. Stack would calculate the information from each Board Member, Mr. Alexander would announce how each Board Member voted and mention the two applicants with the majority votes. |

3.B. HOW TO PRESENT QUESTIONS FOR THE SHORT-TERM SUPERINTENDENT INTERVIEW

Each Board Member will submit two questions to Janith Stack, Board Secretary by Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Mrs. Stack will compile a list of the questions and submit to Dale Thomas, JMCSS Attorney for approval.

4.A. BOARD APPROVAL FOR THE TWO SHORT-TERM APPLICANTS
Discussion:
Each Jackson-Madison County School Board Member was asked to write down two names from the applicant list. The list of applicants were, Dr. Jared Myracle, Ronald Pirtle, King David Rush, Allison Shipp, Michael Steele and Thomas Ray Washington. The voting results from each JMCSS Board Member were: Kevin Alexander - Ray Washington and King David Rush Wayne Arnold - Ray Washington and Jared Myracle Doris Black - Ray Washington and King David Rush Jim Campbell - Jared Myracle and Ray Washington Janice Hampton - Jared Myracle and Michael Steele James Johnson - Ray Washington and King David Rush AJ Massey - Ray Washington and Jared Myracle Morris Merriweather - King David Rush and Michael Steele Shannon Stewart - Jared Myracle and Ray Washington RESULTS FROM VOTES: Ray Washington received 7 votes (seven) and was nominated by Kevin Alexander, Wayne Arnold, Doris Black, Jim Campbell, James Johnson, AJ Massey and Shannon Stewart Dr. Jared Myracle received 5 votes (five) and was nominated by Wayne Arnold, Jim Campbell, Janice Hampton, AJ Massey and Shannon Stewart King David Rush received 4 votes (four) and was nominated by Kevin Alexander, Doris Black, James Johnson and Morris Merriweather Michael Steele recieved 2 votes (two) and was nominated by Janice Hampton and Morris Merriweather The two applicants that recieved the majority votes from the JMCSS Board Members were Thomas Ray Washington and Dr. Jared Myracle. The Applicants will be notified and assigned an interview time on May 30, 2019 for the Short- Term Superintendent position starting July 1, 2019. |
