Jared Myracle presented a JMCSS Recognition for Academic Growth 2017-2018 power point and a banner was presented to the following schools. TVAAS Level 4 (Above Expectations) South Elementary School - Principal Scott Nelson, Pope Elementary School - Tracy Vowel, Northeast Middle School - Micheal Morris and Alexander Elementary - Carolyn Caldwell TVAAS Level 5 ( Significantly Above Expectations) South Side High School - Anita Tucker, Community Montessori School - Dr. Melinda Harris, Madison Academic Magnet High - Chad Guthrie and Jackson-Central Merry Early college High - Nathan Lewis Jackson-Central Merry Early College High and Madison Academic Magnet High School were recognized as Reward Schools by the State of Tennessee, meaning they were in the top 5% for academic growth in the state. |

Eric Jones mentioned that the School District signed a partnership with Western Governors University (WGU) Tennessee for the JMCSS employees to further their education and earn a master's and bachelor's degree. The JMCSS would be eligible for special scholarships, will be able to pay a flat-rate tuition, and further their education while education their students.
