Murfreesboro City Schools would like to thank the following community partners for their support in purchasing laptop computers for the Family Resource Center located at Olive Branch Church: Michael's Homes J & J Smythe Leasing, LLC Advance Financial Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors The community is invited to Open House for the Family Resource Center on Wednesday, October 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Olive Branch Church located at 1115 Minerva Drive. Gail Boyd has recently presented at the Middle Tennessee Mathematics Association Conference at UT Martin. Gail’s session was “Math Norms to Empower and Engage ALL Students.” Recently, Kim Frank presented to the State’s School Counselor and Administrator Leadership Institute; in addition, she was asked by the State to present at the Tennessee South Central CORE division of administrators. Her topic was “Building Strong Brains.” Thursday, October 12th, will be our second gathering of families who are participating in the Ready! For Kindergarten program. This is part of our ePlan that centers on reaching the community and families in building foundations for literacy before kindergarten. Scales Elementary School has been chosen by the state to participate in a qualitative research study that seeks to better understand how RTI2 has affective the specific learning disability identification process and whether its implementation has led to different outcomes in determining SLD eligibility. Thank you to our schools for promoting the Every Day Matters campaign and specifically, the GO-USA-MCS partnership. The weekend after students were awarded a free game of golf for their month of perfect attendance, we had 48 students redeem their free mini golf coupons. Murfreesboro City Schools would like to thank Rack Room Shoes. located at the Avenue, for their donation of a $2369.00 gift card for the purchase of shoes for our students that are in need. |
