Rationale:
MNS Media Specialist, Kati Capshaw, will be making a presentation at the Tennessee Association of School Librarians Conference. She is a committee chair for this group as well. Murfreesboro City Schools would like to thank New Vision Church for their donation of $250.00 toward the purchase of Pre-K supplies. Murfreesboro City Schools would like to extend a special thank you to the Richard Siegel Foundation! We received two grants for the children and families in our community. The first grant was in the amount of $10,000. We are providing three training sessions for 35 parents of children from age 1-5. The training sessions are provided to help families prepare their children for Kindergarten. We were able to purchase 35 READY! For Kindergarten Kits through the Children’s Reading Foundation. The second grant, $4,000 is for the Magic Book Bus. We will be repurposing one of our retired buses as a mobile library to visit children out in the community. The money will cover Wi-FI in the bus as well as shelving for the books! |
