5. Reports

5.A. Chairman's Report

Discussion:

The board will have 3 members representing ACS to support our resolutions at the TSBA Delegate Assembly.
Congratulations to the following for their roles at TSBA:
- Mrs. Gore for her leadership role and representation for ACS as the President-Elect for TSBA's Tennessee Association of Board Secretaries (TABS).
- Dr. Viox for his role as President of TSBA Board Of Directors.
- Mr. Benjamin for his role as TSBA Delta District Director.
Be sure to include Mr. Benjanin in all media requests or communication.
TSBA Journal "I Am......because of Public Education" Edition included:
- Mr. Benjamin's high school picture and testimony about his math teacher that made a difference in his education.
- Dr. Viox's article provided his vision for creating the "I Am" theme. Special thanks to Tyler Hill for being instrumental in producing the video.
Kudos to Dr. Clark for taking on the leadership role of Superintendent and embracing it. The recent AMS visit proved that the new leadership is making a positive impact on the district, faculty and staff. Dr. Clark is because of public education, and she intends to lead, support and grow our employees because that's how our students become successful in public education.
Congressman Kustoff visited the AHS Stem Lab and our students showed off their skills under the direction of Ms. Casey Sandlin-Rogers. I am thankful and impressed that our district can provide these types of programs for our students.

5.B. Superintendent's Report

Discussion:

Thank you to every employee for a successful first 9 weeks and for their continued drive for student progress.
Welcome, Lisa Walker, she has transitioned seamlessly into the position of HR Director.
LEAD Arlington will be at 8:45 on Friday morning at Blue Oval.
CIP Update for Operations
- Softball Fieldhouse approved by TOA to move forward; waiting on Shelby County Code for a permit. Tentative date of October 31 for groundbreaking with a projected completion date of March, 2025.
- New Football Fieldhouse RFQ is out
- Installed 3 new A/C units at AHS
- New generator at AES
- Concrete work at AES, AMS, and DES
- Required back flow work at AES, DES, and AMS
- AMS enhanced security complete.

Lisa Walker, Human Resources

Certified: all positions filled
Classified: 1 open SPED position
Teachers: 96% attendance
Subs: 91% fill rate

Tyler Hill, Communications:

Track or Treat is at AHS this Friday at 5:45 with a movie, Beetle Juice, at 7:00 p.m.
Detailed information presented on past and present Legacy Grant applications and approvals.
- Approximately $89,000+ has been approved since the last board meeting.
- YTD is $230,000
- $270,000 remaining
