Discussion:

TSBA Convention Highlights
- Thank you to all that were able to attend.
- Good information and always a good time.
- Thank you to Mr. Benjamin for being a session moderator (Robert's Rules of Order).
COSBSA (Consortiums of State School Boards Associations) 2023 Events
- January 20-23: State Association Board Leadership Seminar, Savannah GA - Dr. Viox will be attending
- March 30-April 2: COSSBA National Conference: Leading and Learning Together, Tampa, FL
- September 5-7: COSSBA Federal Advocacy Conference, Washington, D.C.
  - Dr. Viox encourages 100% attendance for board members to attend this event and attend as many events possible (if funds are available).
Mr. Benjamin recognized Dr. Viox for being installed as President-Elect for TSBA Board of Directors.
- Good exposure for Arlington Community Schools.
- ACS students will perform at opening and closing ceremonies for TSBA Annual Convention.
- Hopefully the ROTC will be able to perform Colors.

6.B. Superintendent's Report

Discussion:

Q2 Celebration will be the week of December 5th
- Thank you to all employees and as we prepare for the next fast paced quarter.
- Link for lunch order is included in the e-mail.
Trunk or Treat was a huge success as we continue to promote family engagement.

- Discuss the 2024-25 Instructional Calendar
- Calendar chosen to be brought for board approval in January or February

Board members reviewed TSBA Legislative Agenda provided by Dr. Viox prior to meeting
- ACS to include of TSBA Legislative Agenda into a resolution for board approval in December
- Looked at Germantown's Legislative Agenda
- Important to get input from our school district
- Received Hillsdale College flyer, if anyone is interested in looking at them
- Governor cast negative shadow regarding teachers and educating teachers
Coming soon will be a contact list of elected officials, be sure to contact them and provide them with the approved ACS Legislative Agenda
