Academics & Accountability Professional Development session (flex days) in progress
AEBP (Arlington Education Business Partnership):
- Moving forward with capital campaign
- Formal narrative being created describing the scope of what the program will look like
- Narrative will be shared with the Board once completed
- Narrative will fit in with the Engineering Academy and Medical Machining Technology Program
- Southwest moving machines (paid for by capital campaign - approximately $150,000 worth of machines)
- Southwest dual enrollment courses
- Southwest adjunct professors
- Room construction/modifications necessary to house equipment/machines
- Estimate construction cost $500,000 for construction/$300,00 for equipment
- Create position to manage program (embedded in campaign and funded for 10 years)
- Overall cost estimated 2 million
- Naming rights on educational programs or spaces as acknowledgment for those supporting the program
- Next meeting: July 11
- Components to be considered: naming rights (i.e., MicroPort Machining Program)
TDOE Commissioner Schwinn:
- Survey highlights used as tool to develop the states new strategic plan in preparation to submit to Governor by August 1st (rough draft reviewed by superintendents across the state)
- BEP discussed in depth
- Large turnover at TDOE, Commissioner is restructuring to mimic school districts and streamline process

Mr. Mayo:

6 positions open (1 teaching and part-time nutrition techs, teaching assistant). Overall 50 positions filled.
Differentiated Pay Plan submitted
Developing background check plan for all existing employees (5 year cycle)

Discussion:

Superintendent Mason highlights Assistant Principal Salary Study
Dr. Viox asked for clarity from Chairman Williams on pulling Policy 5.310 Vacation and Holidays off of Consent Agenda for discussion
- Chairman disagrees with new Work Pay Schedule that the Board Approved at May 20th meeting, wants to keep AP's at 10.5 month and pay for days worked
- Mr. Mayo presented AP's the new Salary Schedule in March with no feedback to date
Mr. Benjamin asked for clarity on what they were voting on: AP Salary Schedule or Policy 5.310 Vacation and Holidays
- Clarification was provided by General Counsel Speakman - only Policy 5.310 is before the Board for approval
Superintendent Mason outlined her job responsibilities in her contract that include setting Work Pay Schedules for teachers
