Discussion:

Mr. Benjamin asked for justification on the following:
- Why is there a need for an attorney specifically for the board?
- Why is there a need for an additional attorney specifically for board matters when there is a full time attorney already on staff that represents the board?
- What is the specific purpose for needing an additional attorney?
- Is there something going on that we need legal assistance for?
- How many times has an attorney been needed specifically for board matters?
- Superintendent's evaluation procedure: Board members fill out the evaluation, Attorney Speakman tallies votes and reports results to board.
- Provide examples of the board being "hung out to dry" by in house counsel
- Attorney Speakman is top in the field of Education Law
- Request to hear the "many reasons", as said by Chairman Williams, before voting on hiring an attorney strictly for the board
- For the record: It's amazing to me that we are going to spend money on an attorney when we already have a full time attorney.
Chairman Williams states the following:
- Promised Attorney Speakman that she would not allow any negativity or personal attacks during meeting
- Current vote is for forming a committee not hiring a part-time attorney
Mr. Lamar states the following:
- The board has legal duties (information provided at TSBA Board Superintendent Relations workshop):
  - Retain legal counsel
Ms. Conley states the following:
- Board and district should have their own attorney

3. Approval of the 2020-21 schedule for work sessions and regular school board meetings
