Dr. Linda Cash and members of the business office presented the FY26 General Purpose School (GPS) Budget to the Board. Key highlights are summarized below:

A. Revenue Projections

• Total Revenue: $95,908,064.12

  • State Revenue: $75,573,177.53 (TISA Base per student increased to $7,295)

  • Local Revenue:

    • Property Tax: $12,917,140 (3% increase)

    • Sales Tax: $20,104,823 (1.8% increase)

B. Attendance Impact

• FY25 Weighted Average Daily Attendance decreased by 0.0058, resulting in a projected $251,282 loss in funding for FY26.

C. Expenditure Breakdown

• Salaries & Benefits: 80.53%

• Contract Services: 7.09%

• Supplies & Materials: 3.87%

• Other categories: 8.51% (Utilities, Other Charges, Capital Outlay)

D. Raises and Bonuses

• Step + 4% Raises for All Employees: Total Cost: $3,723,783

• State-Funded Teacher Bonus: $2,000 per eligible teacher; Estimated Total: $1,789,922

• District-Funded Bonus (All Staff): $875,281 (funded from FY25 outcomes-based funding)

E. New Positions

• Total Estimated Cost: $1,123,188

• Positions include:

  • Dean of Students (Oak Grove)

  • 2 ESL Teachers

  • 1 Special Education Teacher
