Discussion:
Chairman Lee called the meeting to order and recognized dignitaries in attendance; Commissioner Cindy Slater and Commissioner Tommy Ledford.

6. Director of Schools Report
Discussion:
Dr. Cash recognized the Walker Valley Baseball team for making it to the sub-state and Ocoee Middle School Baseball team for making it to the top four teams in the state. She then talked about the Reach Higher theme for the month, STEM. She announced the STEAM designations of Walker Valley High School and Prospect Elementary School.

Discussion:
Chairman Lee stated that pursuant to state law, directors' contract cannot exceed four years. However, each year the board has the option to extend the contract of the director by one year to maintain the four years allowed by law. So at this time, I will entertain a motion on the director of schools contract.
After the motion, Ms. Beaty asked, "Madam Chair, is that a one-year extension correct?" Chairman Lee responded, "That is correct." Dr. Lovingood asked, "If you go somewhere, which we're hoping you don't go somewhere, but we don't have to pay that contract?" Chairman Lee responded, "If she leaves, then no, we do not."
