Discussion:
Walker Valley High School began a new CTE class called "Unmanned Aircraft" Mr. Harner brought drones to show the Board and explain about the class. The class is a semester long. The 1st nine weeks are spent learning rules, guidelines, and testing for their license. The 2nd nine weeks is spent flying the drones. There were 16 students in the first class. Next semester Bradley Central High School students will get to take the class. The drones can be used for many reasons. Real Estate offices use them to look at houses and yards. Farmers use them to check on cattle, fences, and buildings. They can check on crops and some drones even have the ability to spray crops. Cleveland Utilities uses drones for many of their jobs. They look at transforms to see what the needs are. With an unmanned aircraft license, students can join the work force.
