12. BCHS Track/Tennis Courts and WVHS Tennis Courts Discussion
Discussion:
Chairman Weathers told the Board that Mrs. Casson ask him to put this item on the agenda. She began by saying that she felt like there is no support for the carry over sports. Bradley needs tennis courts and a new track and Walker Valley needs tennis courts. They can't have meets at their schools and they have no fans to support them. After many questions and conversation, it was decided that the Board would like Dr. Cash to look into the cost of each of these projects and the projects on the current priority list from the 2020 Board Retreat. They also ask that she not spend any money to get these prices. The Board would like to have them for the 2021 retreat for discussion.
Mr. Frazier shared that he had a price breakdown for the projects at Bradley Central that Coach Jackson provided him. The price is from Baseline Sports Construction, which is the same company that is working on the Lee University project at Ocoee Middle School. The price is under 1.3 million for 6 tennis courts and a new track. He was ask to share this document with the other Board members. |
