Storm Safe Update
Discussion:  Mr. Miles informed the board that the materials have been ordered to begin the project as soon as school is dismissed for the summer. He also thanked the board for attending the joint meeting with County Commissioners regarding the Storm Safe project.
SCOPE Conference Update
Speaker(s):  Rusty Wiles
Discussion:  Allie Wiles and Katie Maupin were present at the board meeting to discuss their experiences after attending the TSBA SCOPE Conference. The students discussed the main four topics that were debated at the SCOPE Conference. Teacher, Rusty Wiles also informed the board on some of the topics discussed at the conference and thanked them for allowing students the experience of attending the conference every year.
Family Resource Center
Speaker(s):  Becky Holland
Discussion:  Becky Holland and Judy Goad presented information and data on the Family Resource Center as well as their recent visit with state legislators.
Policy (Second Reading)
Speaker(s):  Dr. Stacy Byrd
Discussion:  Dr. Byrd presented information on each of the TSBA recommended proposed policies.

2013-2014 School Calendar
Speaker(s):  Sam Miles & Dr. Stacy Byrd
Discussion:  Mr. Miles & Dr. Stacy Byrd discussed some of the issues that have surrounded the school calendar. Dr. Byrd presented all of the items on the calendar and explained the basic difference in this years calendar and last years is that the calendar is moved back week. Dr. Byrd and Mr. Miles also explained "stockpiled" days for the system. According to Mr. Miles, State of TN Department of Education Commissioner sent an email on Wednesday that LEA's would be granted permission to use stockpile days for professional development. Mr. Miles submitted a request to use 2 stockpiled days for professional development purposes. Once a decision is made regarding that request, the calendar will be presented again to the board with the addition of those professional development days.

PECCA Update
Discussion:  Mr. Miles reviewed with the board about PECCA. He informed them a couple of meetings have already been held within the district and another one is scheduled for April.
Online Testing for PARCC Assessments
Discussion:  Mr. Miles informed the board that the Governor has budgeted 50 million to allocate for online testing assessments in 2014-2015. He discussed in detail about the concerns and changes that would develop to ensure that the district is ready to administer the PARCC Assessments. The PARCC assessments will require our district to update many devices and most technology. Mr. Miles wants to make sure that we acquire the correct equipment to achieve the level of technology that we will need to administer the PARCC assessments. Mr. Miles stated that he would keep the board informed on if these monies are given to the district.
HCHS Band Uniforms
Discussion:  Mr. Miles informed the board that Mr. Nelson is proposing to purchase new band uniforms due to the 12 year age of the current uniforms. HCHS Band Director, Michael Nelson introduced Harrison Lundberg, HCHS Band Student and Lucy Presson, Band Booster President. Mr. Nelson presented the board with the proposal to purchase approximately 138 band uniforms. Mr. Nelson discussed fund raising projects that are being planned and some that have already occurred to offset some of the costs of the uniforms. Mr. Miles informed the board that he would present a budget amendment at next months board meeting to support the purchase of the uniforms. Adjourned 5:55pm.
