1. Call to Order
Discussion:
The Executive Committee of the Marshall County Board of Education, comprised of Chairman of the Board Mike Keny and Director of Schools Jackie Abernathy, spoke by phone Monday, April 28, 2014, at approximately 3:40 p.m. to discuss approving the request from Marshall County High School FCCLA sponsors Melanie Jordan and Jenna Wilson for two students and one sponsor to attend the FCCLA National Leadership Meeting July 5-11 in San Antonio, Texas. Even though the conference is over two months away, the sponsors needed permission before the next board meeting in order to make arrangements by May 1. Board secretary Rhonda Poole was also in attendance.

2. MCHS FCCLA request
Action(s):
No Action(s) have been added to this Agenda Item.
Discussion:
Three MCHS FCCLA students finished first in their category in state competition; two of those students are now eligible to attend the national competition. According to board policy 2.901 Financing School Trips, students who place first or second in state competition are eligible for board support to national competitions. The FCCLA submitted a "Request for Funds and Permission" per the board of Education's guidelines (also noted in policy 2.901).
