I. Capital Projects
Discussion:
The Bedford County Board of Education met for a study session on August 8, 2024 at 5:25 pm in the Board of Education Central Office located at 500 Madison St., Shelbyville, TN. Board members Michael Cook, Brian Crews, David Brown, Dan Reed, Barton Williams, Glenn Forsee and Shanna Boyette were present. Lana Craig and Andrea Anderson were absent. Dr. Tammy Garrett, Chad Fletcher, and Daniel Kleindienst were present.
Chairman Michael Cook opened the meeting. There was discussion on the ESSER 3.0 Proposal. Chad Fletcher explained the proposal and how we could get reimbursed for certain items and that money would go into the general purpose fund. The Board thanked Chad for all his hard work he put into this proposal. The proposal will come in front of the Board Thursday, August 15th, and will include the following: Textbooks ($397,086.93), Instructure ($140,724.08), Lexia ($163,800.00), Curriculum Associates ($159,662.00), AIMSWEB ($23,800.00), Flashlight 360 ($40,000.00), 4 School Buses ($590,000.00), School Furniture ($152,656.95), Cameras/Door Access ($175,000.00), Vestibules ($1,200,000.00), Reimbursement SY24 Internet Connectivity ($339,426.57). Isenhour ($308,888.72), Reimbursement for cabling ($262,901.46) for a total of $3,953,946.71. Discussions were held on how to fund LED lights at the athletic fields. The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:05. |
