I. Draft Budget FY 2024-2025
Discussion:
The Bedford County Board of Education met for a budget work session on May 2, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the Board of Education Central Office located at 500 Madison St., Shelbyville, TN. Board members Michael Cook, Brian Crews, Dan Reed, Glenn Forsee, Andrea Anderson, Barton Williams, and Lana Craig were present. Shanna Boyette and David Brown were absent. Dr. Tammy Garrett, Mr. Tim Harwell, Mr. Neil Watson and Robert Daniel were also present.
Chairman Michael Cook opened the meeting. There was discussion on changes that the board had asked for. The board asked Mr. Daniel to make another change for a 4% increase in salaries for certified and classified for the next work session. TISA money was explained regarding Maintenance of Effort. There will be a planning session in July after the budget passes. The board also asked Dr. Garrett to do a letter to Cooper Steel for all they have done for our schools. The next budget work session will be May 9, 2024 at 5:30 in the boardroom at the Central Office. The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:00. |
