December 19, 2017 at 5:30 PM - Bedford County Board of Education December Monthly Board Meeting

Rationale:  In the attached document, the superintendent goals and objectives have been merged with the scoring template.  The heaviest weighted section (Number 5) has been broken out for board members to select a yes/no answer as these items are not subjective.  Each of the seven items within that category have equal value.  

Rationale:  This grant budget was approved previously by the BOE (in October) however while the total grant budget remains the same amount, the amounts in individual lines has changed.  The revenue number/sub fund has also changed.  County finance recommends that the BOE approve the revised budget.

Rationale:  This amendment represents additional allocations in the amount of $5,082.89 to the CTE Perkins grant.

Rationale:  Joy Rich recommends rejecting both bids that were received as they were significantly beyond the budgeted amount (see attached recommendation letter).

Rationale:  Recommendation is to reject the proposals that came in for this bid as prices were much more than budgeted.  Maintenance will take the bleachers down themselves and portable will be listed on Gov Deals.

Rationale:  Maintenance was initially recommending Gonzalez for this bid, however the recommendation is now to reject this proposal as it came in over $25,000 and the bidder does not have a contractor's license.

Rationale:  Drywall Specialties is being recommended for this bid

Rationale:  Heritage Craftsman, LLC. was initially recommended for this bid however both bidders are being rejected because bids were over $25,000 and neither bidder has a contractor's license.

Rationale:  D&M Underground was initially recommended as the winning bid, however since Mofield Brothers Construction Co. submitted the only bid that was qualified, they are now being recommended as the winning bid proposal.
