III.C. Policy Revisions
|
III.C.1. Policy 5.117 - Procedure for Granting Tenure
Rationale:
This policy revision is an update to address the notice requirements for non-renewal of teachers who are not granted tenure. The previous law stated that the notice of non-renewal must be received prior to June 15 to be applicable to the next succeeding school year. The new law requires the notice to be given within five (5) business days following the last instructional day of the school year.
|
III.C.2. Policy 5.203 - Nonrenewal
Rationale:
This policy revision is also an update to address the notice requirements for non-renewal of non-tenured teachers. The previous law stated that the notice of non-renewal must be received prior to June 15 to be applicable to the next succeeding school year. The new law requires the notice to be given within five (5) business days following the last instructional day of the school year.
|
III.C.3. Policy Revision - 6.200 - Attendance
Rationale:
Student Services is asking for this revision to the Attendance policy which is to simply strike the language shown regarding tardies counting as unexcused absences. This practice is not covered in TCA and has been advised against at attendance conferences.
|
III.D. Bids
|
III.D.1. Bid 15-46 Pest Control Services
Rationale:
Due to various complaints from schools and continuous invoice issues Kirklands is not being recommended for pest control vendor. Cooks Pest Control has also had some reliability and performance issues in the past. Based on price, past performance and overall account service, Daniel Kleindienst is recommending Mid State Pest Control. The owner-operator is local and has done a really good job in the past and is known to be reliable, according to Mr. Kleindienst.
|
III.D.2. Bid 16-1 Paper
Rationale:
This is the countywide bid for paper. American Paper & Twine is the lowest and best bid.
|
III.D.3. Bid 16-2 Batteries
Rationale:
O'Reilly's Auto Parts has been recommended as the lowest and/or best bid for Batteries.
|
III.D.4. Bid 16-3 Oil & Lubricants
Rationale:
Walker Oil has been recommended as the lowest and/or best bid for Oil & Lubricants
|
III.D.5. Bid 16-4 Vehicle Parts
Rationale:
NAPA is being recommended as the best bid for vehicle parts.
|
III.D.6. Bid 16-5 HVAC Filters
Rationale:
Maintenance is recommending the bid from Ferguson Enterprises.
|
III.D.7. Bid 16-6 Light Bulbs
Rationale:
Daniel Kleindienst is recommending C.E.S. as the lowest and best bid (they won the bid last year and are doing a good job for us).
|
III.D.8. Bid 16-7 Propane
Rationale:
The bid from Flamegas/Amerigas is being recommended as low bid for the large tanks and as best bid for the small tanks. (We don't buy much gas for small tanks and for the few cents difference, maintenance would prefer to stay with one company rather than split up).
