VI.A. Revision - Policy 1.704 - Charter Schools
Rationale:
TSBA came out this fall with a few additional policy recommendations related to changes in the legislative session this year. The General Assembly extended (TCA 49-13-108) the time frame in which a charter school sponsor has to correct deficiencies which led to the denial of the charter school application. The charter school sponsor now has thirty (30) days (instead of 15) to submit an amended application to the local board for consideration. |
VI.B. Rescind - Policy 5.111-Utilization of Career Level Educators
Rationale:
The General Assembly recently repealed all state laws pertaining to the career ladder program. TSBA recommends rescinding model policy 5.111. Please note that state law still requires each Board to pay supplements to eligible educators. |
VI.C. Revision - Policy 5.112 - Extended Contracts
Rationale:
TSBA recommends modifying this policy by removing any and all references to the career ladder program. |
VI.D. Revision - Policy 1.8012 - Extended School Day/Year...
Rationale:
This revision is a housekeeping measure related to the last two measures in order to expunge any references to career ladder from various policies. |
