Systemwide Special Projects
Rationale:  Rezoning for 5 of our schools (Eakin, Southside, Eastside, Learning Way, Liberty) is being discussed to provide a balance of our student populations to better coincide with our school building capacities.

Flexible scheduling is being discussed for our high school students and a recommendation for a pilot program will be made at a later board meeting.
Mobile Health Unit
Rationale:  A second meeting is being planned to begin a partnership with Middle Tennessee Mobile Health Unit Collaborative.
Teacher Evaluation Model
Rationale:  Thanks to BCLA teacher John Anderson for his extensive research on the validity of the new evaluation model for Tennessee teachers.  Although we are required to use the state mandated evaluation model (and apply all components uniformly), for certain teachers, the 35% component covering TVAAS gains of students, is not evaluatively applicable, but will be used for system study.  The state is currently reviewing the model and has asked for a formal study to be completed so improvements can be made.
Their Future is Our Future
Rationale:  Our graduation initiative is underway and our official kickoff lunch is scheduled for Thursday, February 2, 2012 at SCHS Auditorium.
