Discussion:  The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m.by Board Chair, Claire Maxwell.

Note: Facility use prior to 8/7/25 has been granted pending Board action. A certificate of insurance with $2,000,000.00 limits ($1,000,000.00 if approved) is required by each user. Each group must forward any renewals of insurance to the Board on time; otherwise, approval is terminated at the end of the policy period. All approvals are for no more than a 1-year period.
 

Discussion:  Ms. Fleener is a Structured Settings Teacher at Rocky Fork Middle School.  She expressed her thanks to the Richard Siegel grant for providing the means to purchase a Smartboard last year.  This year the grant money was used to purchase a coffee and snack cart, which is run by students.

Discussion:  Matt Fee shared his thoughts on policies enforced by state law.

Discussion:  Mrs. Maxwell read through the Director of Schools Evaluation report highlighting his final scores in each area. Mrs. Rosales plans to discuss Appendix C with TSBA concerning the Director's performance score and that it did not match our district scores.  Dr. Sullivan mentioned that he had a conversation with TOSS about the discrepancy in his evaluation and the district scores.

Discussion:  Dr. Sullivan shared that we had a very smooth 2-hour day.  He reminded everyone to expect a few logistical issues as we navigate the first few days of school.  We are watching a few of our schools due to increased enrollment.  

Discussion:  Mrs. Rosales reiterated her concerns about the discrepancies in Appendix C of the Director of Schools evaluation.  She plans to discuss with TSBA including comments, as part of the evaluation tool, so when the Director is being scored, they may explain the "why" to allow the Director to make improvements where necessary. 

Dr. Sullivan said at the next board meeting we will discuss the five-year building plan and insurance rates.

Discussion:  Motion made by Butch Vaughn and seconded by Frances Rosales to uphold the decision of the administration.
