Kennedy Elementary School Kindergarten students Abel and Boone Marsh will lead the Board of Education and audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. They are the children of Aaron and Brittney Marsh.

1.2. Additions to and/or Acceptance of the Agenda

Description:
Mrs. Woods will ask for a motion to accept the agenda, which includes the consent agenda. Once the agenda is accepted, the Board mutually agrees not to discuss any item of business or take any action that has not been accepted for the agenda. |

Description:
This is the time when members of the audience are invited to comment on agenda items. It is not the time to speak about personnel issues, as there are more appropriate ways in which these can be addressed. If you are not sure how to do this, please ask one of us after the meeting. If you would like to speak on a topic not included on the agenda, you are asked to submit your request in writing to the Superintendent of Schools at least three (3) business days prior to the scheduled date of the meeting. 2.2. Dr. Melissa Seaver, 2024 Tennessee National Outstanding Assistant Principal by the National Association of Elementary and Secondary Principals

Dr. Melissa Seaver, Sevier Middle School Assistant Principal, was recently named the 2024 Tennessee National Outstanding Assistant Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). Each year, NAESP recognizes a new class of National Outstanding Assistant Principals. Public school elementary and middle-level assistant principals are nominated by peers in their state and final selections are made by committees appointed by each of the NAESP's state affiliate offices. 4.1. Consideration of Adjustments to Superintendent Employment Contract

4.2. Approval to Award Contract for Customized Student Benchmark Assessment Program to Instructure, Inc.

Description:
Mr. David Frye, Chief Finance Officer, and Mr. Michael Hubbard, Director of Performance Excellence, will present a recommendation to award the contract for a Customized Benchmark Assessment program to Instructure, Inc. for the not to exceed contract amount of $94,971.00. Funding is budgeted in School Performance Assessment, General Purpose Funds.

4.3. Approval to Purchase a Dissection Table for Dobyns-Bennett High School Career and Technical Education

Description:
Mr. Frye and Dr. Bo Shadden, Director of Career & Technical Education (CTE) and Post-Secondary Education, will present a recommendation to purchase an Anatomage interactive 3D anatomy and physiology learning virtual dissection table for Dobyns-Bennett High School CTE in the amount of $83,550.00. The purchase will be made utilizing the TIPS-USA Contract 230105. Funding will be from the Carl Perkins Grant account.

4.4. Approval of Tuition Rate Adjustment

Description:
Mr. Jim Nash, Chief Student Services Officer, will present a request for the Board to consider decreasing the annual tuition rate per student for FY 2024-2025. The last tuition rate change made by the Board was in 2018.
Current tuition fees are $1,400 per year for Sullivan County residents, $2,400 per year for Hawkins County residents, and $3,400 per year for all other Tennessee counties. Kingsport City Schools and City of Kingsport employees receive a discount of $700 per year in Sullivan County and $1,400 per year for all other Tennessee counties. Out of state tuition would remain unchanged at $9,700 per year.
