Summary of Major Elements: The Greeneville City Schools Board of Education provides full time employees with employer provided Group Life coverage at varying levels at no cost to full time employees. The district’s current plan provides a minimum of $20,000 in group life coverage and guaranteed issues for voluntary life of up to $150,000 (Employees) $10,000 (Spouse) and $5,000 (Children). The market was researched and three (3) providers submitted quotes: Current provider, Reliance Standard, Securian, and USable Life. See details enclosed on each provider. Based on overall parameters (Customer Service, Guaranteed Issue limits, and both Group Life & Voluntary life Rates) It is recommended to move to Securian (through American Fidelity). Securian provided the best Group Life Rate and highest Guaranteed Issue limits compared to Reliance and USable. In addition, the proposal provides an increase of $10,000 on all Group Life Classes for active employees, raising the minimum from $20,000 to $30,000 group life coverage.
