Rationale:
Discovery School will host its first Preview Night and Information Meeting on November 5 at 6 p.m. Families interested in learning more about Discovery for the 2027-28 school year are encouraged to attend. A reminder that November 3 is Election Day and Parent-Teacher Conference Day for MCS. ESP will also be closed that day. Thank you to MTSU Volleyball for partnering with our Coordinated School Health team to host a clinic for our students. October is National Farm to School Month, and we will celebrate National Crunch Day on October 30. Nearly 10,000 apples will be distributed to students across the district. More than 35 families participated in First Chapters this month at Reeves-Rogers and Overall Creek. This program invites families to enjoy a story and themed craft together in the school library. Erma Siegel Elementary collected more than 3,000 food items to support the District’s Backpack Program. This marks the second consecutive year the school has contributed to helping meet the needs of local families. The Murfreesboro Police Department is hosting a mac and cheese drive throughout October to benefit the Backpack Program and provide additional food resources for students and families. Thank you to Tracy Lawrence for committing to provide 100 Thanksgiving dinners for families at Mitchell-Neilson, Hobgood, and Reeves-Rogers Elementary Schools. John Pittard Elementary School’s Student Council collected nearly 1,000 books during a recent book drive. The donations will support the District’s Family Resource Center and Mobile Resource Van, helping expand access to reading materials across our community. Finally, thank you to all the sponsors and teams who made the Serve It Up Pickleball Tournament a tremendous success. |
